5/20/2019 How to Launch A Children’s BookI was asked by many authors how we had such a successful launch. So I decided to write an article about my experience with my first children’s book instead of offering bits and pieces of tips. I am, by no means, an expert and there are many other authors who have more experience and success. This is my first hand experience. What I am good at it is trying different things until I find the answers.
Marketing plays a huge role in not only helping you bring what it is you have to offer to the world, but also in helping the world find what it is you have to offer. Here are some marketing tips I’ve learned along the way: 1.) Create a landing page to collect emails with free product offerings and/or information on your upcoming book launch/Kickstarter campaign. 2.) Build your email list and curate a giveaway with products your target audience would like. Choose a giveaway platform. I used SumoKing a few times and liked their platform. 3.) Write articles and post one or two on medium.com, link your giveaway at the end as a content upgrade. If you have already launched your book, link your ordering platform. Direct a lot of traffic to your article upon release on medium and get syndicated. 4.) Start a Facebook group, titled ‘How to Win Wimbledon in Pajamas’ (insert your book name here) book launch team or ‘Mental Toughess Team’(insert your specialty here). Share the journey by giving them glimpses of book, have them vote in design polls, etc. Important thing here is to let your book family experience the joy of creating something wonderful from ground zero. Treat them like VIP and really listen to their opinions. The fact that we already had a community in place to help support the campaign and book launch from the start made it more powerful. This allowed us to engage an existing audience and come together as a family to support the book. By treating them like family, you may just create SuperFans. 5.) Write a press release to be ready when you launch for news outlets. Negotiate sponsorships in exchange for news coverage. We gained our biggest donation from the publicity the business received from two news channel interviews. 6.) Use a passive email signature, link your give-way or Amazon link. This is easy to setup. Mine looks like this: Thank you, Mary Nhin 405.971.4888 www.nhinja.com P.S. Ever wonder how you can to help your kid overcome obstacles and achieve success? Here's a proven framework to help! Reach out to personal network through text and messages to share your campaign and book link, or better yet ask them to share your book via email to their ENTIRE list. 8.) Join interest groups on facebook but try not to spam. Post pictures or articles you’ve written with the content upgrade link. 9.) Use the power of videos to connect, give, and engage. Give more than you receive. Post your landing page link. 10.) Use the free promo on KDP to send out to interest groups. Post one of your videos and ask for a specific number of reviews. 11.) Ask others and hire a coach. If you don’t know something, do your research, then ask others who have done it. I offer coaching, as well. http://www.marynhin.com/authorpublisher-coaching.html 12.) Send out advanced reader copies and ask for reviews to use in publicity and in your book. That's all for now, I've got to go learn about AMS ads!
