Yes in ONE MONTH with my supportive, but equally crazy team, I launched 4 books in the month of July. And here’s why it hasn’t made me crazy, in the traditional sense.
I’ve fallen crazy in love with the process - the good and the bad, the chills I get when I write with emotion, working hand-in-hand with my talented illustrators to bring the characters to life, perfecting the typesetting and message with my articulate designers, the busyness of launching and marketing, sharing the highs and lows with my author friends I’ve made in this group, reading J’s daily controversial posts, eating shitty reviews, and basking in the good ones.
Developing grit for something is so much easier when you have passion for it. It’s what will drive you through the shitty reviews and the copyright infringements you’re bound to face. Some people call that perseverance.
I think it’s a combination of passion and perseverance. How can you persevere if you don’t love what you’re doing? Inversely, how can you develop a love for something if you don’t stick around through the failures and ups and downs.
Success is so much sweeter once you’ve already failed.
